In reflecting on this theme\, the image of a fractal came to mind.\n\nA fractal is a geometric pattern that is self-similar\, meaning it looks similar or identical at different scales. Other naturally occurring examples are seashells\, snowflakes\, and ferns. Because this training takes place in the beautiful Colorado mountains\, a pinecone felt like the perfect choice!\n\nIn adrienne maree brown's Emergent Strategy\, fractals in nature represent the idea that how we are at a small-scale (in our personal practices and relationships) is how we are in large-scale systems and social movements. It is essential to find small-scale spaces to practice and enact the type of transformation we are working toward on a larger scale. \n\nThe intention of this summer's training is to cultivate a space where we can practice being\, learning\, and growing in restorative community together\, so that we can bring that experience into our wider experiences and lives. We invite participants into an immersive community experience that fosters authenticity\, connection\, and play. We will explore and dream together about the large-scale transformation we are already creating as we live out these values in small-scale ways.Prerequisite: We request that training participants have a foundational understanding and experience with restorative justice and restorative practices prior to participating in this training. The focus of this course is learning to facilitate activities to teach restorative principles and skills.
