During this introductory training, participants will learn about:

  • The framework of restorative justice
  • General methodology and processes of restorative justice
  • Application of restorative justice to higher education
  • Essential skills needed for facilitation

Participants in our RJ Training will:

  • Learn RJ history and principles
  • Participate in role play using real life scenarios
  • Explore community-building practices
  • Connect RJ, Catholic Social Teaching, and your Catholic institution’s mission
  • Design and facilitate circles
  • Develop a team implementation plan

What's included: 

  • 2 days of lunch
  • 3 days of coffee, tea and light snacks
  • The Little Book of Restorative Justice for Colleges & Universities, authored by Center Director, David Karp
  • A commemorative talking piece
  • A certificate of completion from the University of San Diego
  • Detailed training handouts and a set of slides for making introductory RJ presentations on your campus.
