Noticing and Interrupting Prejudice in Everyday Life hosted by Peace Through Action

Thursday, February 26, 2026 (7:00 PM - 8:30 PM) (EST)

Description

Hosted by Peace Through Action

Prejudice often shows up in small, familiar moments through assumptions, generalizations, jokes, or comments that quietly diminish others’ dignity and humanity. These moments can feel subtle and uncomfortable, especially when they involve people we work with, care about, or regularly encounter.

During this 90-minute virtual session, participants will explore practical ways to notice when prejudice shows up and respond in ways that reduce harm and prevent escalation. Together, the group will examine common patterns that shape everyday conversations and practice simple, human responses that slow moments down, restore dignity, and re-center shared humanity.

The session will include guided reflection, interactive practice, and small-group conversation. Participants will work with realistic scenarios and develop language they can imagine using in their own lives. This time together focuses on building awareness, confidence, and steadiness during moments that matter.
