🚫 Note for Individual Applicants: Ineligible Uses of Grant Funds

If you are applying as an individual, please note that Grant funds may not be used for:

  • Salaries or wages paid to yourself or others
  • Payments to individuals for personal services (e.g., consulting, advising, facilitating, or speaking at events related to your project)

In summary:
If you are applying as an individual applicant, you cannot use the grant to pay yourself or anyone else for their time, labor, or services, even if it supports the overall project. These types of payments are considered personal compensation and are not eligible under IRS guidelines for individual grants.

This restriction applies specifically to grants awarded to individuals and is based on IRS regulations for charitable funding.

Organizations may have more flexibility, grants to organizations are not subject to the same strict limitations on paying for personal services
as long as these expenses are directly related to carrying out the project’s goals.
