Community and restorative justice continues to grow and expand across the U.S. and world. With that growth comes increased opportunities for trainings, conferences, and events to deepen one’s relationship with these practices. In our commitment to continual learning, practice, and facilitating connections, we offer this calendar as a go to place to share and find community and restorative justice events.

The Brain Science Behind Effective Restorative Practices (Hosted by: NACRJ- Webinar Series)
Wednesday, September 9, 2026 (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
Hosted By: National Association of Community and Restorative Justice.
This webinar will present a research-centered examination of the neurobiological mechanisms that shape conflict, relational safety, and restorative engagement in educational and youth serving settings. Based on empirical evidence of affective neuroscience, autonomic regulation, trauma physiology, and relational neurobiology, the session reframes restorative practices as neurobiological processes governed by right-hemispheric systems rather than cognitive or behavioral frameworks.
Participants will explore how to:
• Understand the brain systems that influence behavior, regulation, and relational safety
• Connect restorative practices with neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and cultural responsiveness
• Use brain-based strategies to co-regulate, strengthen trust, and reduce conflict
