Job Summary

The Associate Director provides advanced leadership and oversight for the Office of Student Conflict Resolution (OSCR), ensuring the delivery of comprehensive conflict resolution resources to the University community. OSCR is an educationally driven initiative dedicated to fostering trust, promoting justice, and teaching peace through a broad spectrum of conflict resolution methods. The Spectrum Model of Conflict Resolution, originally developed and implemented at the University of Michigan, serves as the foundation for these efforts.

In this role, the Associate Director manages the development, implementation, and enhancement of conflict resolution programs, services, and pathways that meet the diverse needs of students, faculty, and staff. This includes facilitating conflict resolution education, supporting adaptable resolution methods, and advancing OSCR's mission to build community trust and empower community members in addressing and resolving conflicts constructively.

Department Leadership (40%)

  • Oversee OSCR operations and staff; supervise high-profile conflict cases; support strategic planning and stakeholder engagement; act as the Director's designee when needed.

Program Oversight & Case Management (30%)

  • Oversee conflict resolution programs and case processing, including intake, facilitation, and outcome development; manage data systems and ensure compliance with university and federal standards.

Education, Outreach & Collaboration (20%)

  • Collaborate with campus units, stakeholders, and external partners to support student well-being, restorative justice, safety, and educational growth.

Committee & Professional Involvement (10%)

  • Represent OSCR on university committees; contribute to professional research, publications, and associations in student affairs and conflict resolution.
