GRADUATING GRADUATE STUDENTS IN COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS
AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER EXTERNSHIP PROJECTS
Excellent opportunity to evaluate potential new hires.
Our Master’s in Criminal Justice & Community Corrections program has graduating students who, as their final class, must complete an externship (paid OR unpaid) over the summer. They are available to complete substantive projects for your agency that help further your mission and give them additional experience working in community corrections. The externship is an online project, unless the student resides locally to an agency.
- 240 hours project (20 hours/week, May-July, 2025)
- Several have previous experience working in probation agencies
- All have completed a rigorous, 2-year-program of study including coursework in:
- Community-Based Corrections
- Reentry & Reintegration of Offenders
- Program Evaluation and Evidence-Based Practice
- Leadership & Collaboration in Community Corrections
- Restorative Justice in the Community
- Substance Abuse Vulnerabilities, Dynamics & Problems
- Institutional Corrections and Offender Rehabilitation
- Abnormal psychology and forensic mental health
Externship projects parameters are developed by your agency and graduate student resumes are sent to you for consideration. A Memorandum of Understanding detailing the project and responsibilities is signed between the student and your agency, with supervision shared between agency staff and the Master’s program director.
